Maston was here for a long weekend so Todd took Friday off and we kept Judson home from school so we could have some family time. We decided to go check out the pirate exhibit at Discovery Place. We rode the light rail into the city, which the kids loved. Once we got to the museum we had a great time looking at all the recovered "treasures" on display, playing with all the cool gadgets, and experiencing hurricane force winds in the wind tunnels. After the museum we took a walk around downtown Charlotte. The kids played in fountains, climbed on sculptures, played hide and seek in the parks, and just enjoyed taking in all the buildings, noises, and sights of the city. We ended the afternoon with ice cream sundaes, which is really the best way to end any afternoon!
