We spent the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Georgia with Todd's family. After enduring Thanksgiving traffic we arrived Wednesday evening. The kids had time for a little snacking and gift opening before heading off to bed. This was the first time the kids slept in separate rooms and Nana and Papa's house. I was a little nervous there'd be musical beds, but they did great!
Thanksgiving day was spent like most great Thanksgivings. We started out with the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, got the turkey in the oven, relaxed and munched through out the days, and had a football game going most of the time. The girls spent the afternoon preparing everything for the Thanksgiving meal. Ryann and Judson were our little helpers. They'd run upstairs to get the things we needed from Nana...cinnamon, honey, a wisk.
"Uncle Jason" arrived later in the afternoon and then it was time to eat! The feast was great! Turkey, 2 kinds of stuffing, green bean casserole, cheesy corn casserole, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls and pickles. YUM! We ate until we were stuffed and then we rested a bit so that we could enjoy some caramel apple pie for dessert. It was a great day!
Friday morning Shelly and I braved the "Black Friday" crowds and did some shopping. Shelly scored some great deals and Kohl's and I helped check a few things of Santa's list at Target. There were a lot of people out, but everyone was patient and we didn't have to trip any old ladies to get the last of anything. I would call it a success.
The rest of the day was spent just hanging out, relaxing and eating the leftovers. Just as it should be. :)
