This past week was Judson's Spring break from school. The beginning of the week was spent at home. We did manage to get to Chik-fil-A for ice cream cones one afternoon and purchased a Slip-n-Slide that the kids had a lot of fun playing on, although they didn't quite figure out the slide part of it. It was more of a Slip-n-Scoot. Either way they had fun.
On Wednesday the kids and I hit the road, headed to Canton to visit Nana and Papa Sloan. We left Charlotte around 10:15 and made it by around 3:00. The Easter bunny had left some goody baskets for the kids which they were VERY excited to rip into to. They ate a bunch of candy and then got right into playing with all the fun toys at Nana's.
We spent some time Thursday doing some shopping. It rained real hard that afternoon, of course right as we were getting ready to leave Target it started to downpour. The kids thought it was great!
Friday morning Judson started the day off sick. He laid around coughing and "getting sick". By late morning he seemed to be feeling better so Kathey and I went ahead with our plan to take turns going to get pedicures. It was wonderful! I only get that luxury a couple times a year and love every minute of it.
by the afternoon I ended up taking Judson to the doctor. He started feeling bad again and had a really bad cough. It was so bad that he hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, and it was really starting to hurt his chest and stomach. They took a chest x-ray and determined he had bronchitis. We got a prescription for an antibiotic and cough medicine and we were on our way. He had a much better night!
Saturday Kathey and I left the kids with Papa and headed to Chattanooga for a wedding shower for Shelly. We had a great time with a fun bunch of Shelly's friends and future in-laws. While we were away Papa and the kids had a lot of fun. They took in a movie, had ice cream, and since were got back later than expected Papa said he would have to "break their hearts and take them to McDonald's for dinner". By the time we got home they had full tummies and were bathed! It was so nice!! Thanks Papa Sloan!!
Sunday morning we headed back to Charlotte. It was a great Spring break, and now the countdown until Summer break begins!
