We celebrated Judson's 6th birthday yesterday with a pirate themed party. He had a handful of little friends over, and they seemed to have a lot of fun. They went on a treasure hunt through the house searching for clues that lead them to their treasure bags filled with candy, colors, coloring books and more. Judson opened up his gifts and was so excited about everything he got. After opening gifts we all gathered around the pirate cake, that I have to say, turned out really well. We all sang Happy Birthday". He blew out the candles, asked for a cupcake, ate off the frosting and then asked for vanilla ice cream instead. This is the usual routine. Judson loves the idea of cupcakes and cake, but never actually eats them. He always goes for plain vanilla ice cream. A creature of habit. I don't know where he gets that from? ;) It was a fun day, and needless to say we had some very sleepy kids last night. They didn't wake up until after 9:00 this morning! That must have been MY birthday gift!!
