We spent 4th of July weekend with Todd's family in Chattanooga. We had such a good time! The weather was beautiful and we always have fun with the "English" clan. We got into Chattanooga on Thursday around midnight. After letting the kids get some energy out it was time for some much needed rest.
Friday was spent getting the tables decorated and ready for dinner that evening. Bobby and I snuck away with the kids for an hour or so and brought them down to a nearby park with a carousel and splash park. The kids loved the carousel and had fun in the splash park, but would have enjoyed it a bit more had it not been so crowded.
Late Friday afternoon family began to arrive. We spent the night enjoying the wonderful weather, really good BBQ and each other's company. All the kids played so well together too.
Saturday everyone did their own thing during the daytime. Todd and Bobby took Judson and Ryann to the discovery museum that afternoon. They all had a lot of fun. There was a Curious George exhibit going on that the kids were very excited about.
Later that afternoon everyone started meeting back up at the house. We had a great dinner and then headed down to the park to watch the fireworks. There was an orchestra set up to entertain until dark so we watched the kids play and dance until the fireworks began. It was a great show! I don't think fireworks will ever lose their appeal. Every year there something new and beautiful!
Another great 4th of July and another great English family reunion!
