After debating for several years now Todd and I decided it was time for Judson and Ryann to have a pet. We did some research for a good dog for people with allergies and decided that a miniature schnauzer was the breed we wanted. I found a local breeder and on that Thursday we went ahead and put down a deposit.
When Saturday rolled around we put the kids in the car to start the hour trip. The kids knew there was a surprise, but had no idea what was coming. Even after arriving at the breeders they didn't understand what was happening. They thought we were there just to pet some dogs, like a petting zoo. :)
Once they figured out we were taking one of the puppies home with us they were so excited!!
They brought out our Finn and he was so fun. He had personality right from the beginning. We got all the paper work complete. Bought him a cute colar and leash and let the kids pick out a toy for him. We got in the car and Finn was great on the trip.
We've had him now for about a month now and he is a great fit for our family. He's got spunk and likes to play but he also likes to cuddle on the couch with mommy or daddy at night. He sleeps through the night, in his crate, which is awesome. We're still working on the house training, but he's doing pretty well. Hopefully he'll get that figured out sooner rather than later. :)
