Easter Weekend

We spent Easter weekend in Canton, Georgia with Todd's family this year. Along with Nana and Papa Sloan, Aunt Shelly and her boyfriend Jason, we got to spend the weekend with Todd's grandmother English. After an uneventful drive we arrived around 4:00 on Saturday afternoon. After running out for a few last minute Easter essentials, we sat down to a wonderful spaghetti dinner, gave the kids a bath before bed and then settled in for some movie time.
Sunday morning we enjoyed a beautiful Easter service at Bobby and Kathey's church there. It didn't start until 11:00 so we had a nice relaxed morning. After church we took a bunch of pictures before lunch. And yes, Bobby did make his deviled eggs...yum!
The kids waited pretty patiently until it was time for the Easter egg hunt. They excitedly ran around the yard putting eggs in their baskets. They both sat down right away and started popping open the plastic eggs to find the treasures inside. Bring on the sugar high!
Jason and Shelly had to leave shortly after the hunt, but it was so nice getting to know Jason. He's just a really nice, down to earth guy, and he and Shelly seem to be really happy together.
Later that afternoon Todd and I took the kids down to the little community park. They needed to work off some of that sugar induced energy. They played for awhile and then we all took a little walk down to a river that runs through their neighborhood. There were a bunch of horses on the opposite side that we enjoyed watching.
After we got back to Nana and Papa's Kathey fixed us dinner. The kids took another bath and then went to bed. Shortly after the adults did the same. It had been a busy day.
We headed back to Charlotte late in the morning on Monday. It was a great Easter break and a fun time with family.
