Risch Family Christmas '09

We spent Christmas day, and most of the week before, in at mom and dad's. Michael flew in the Friday before Christmas, and once he gets here we like to spend as much time as possible together as a family. We did a lot of eating, shopping and goofing off. On the night of the 23rd the kids spent the night with Grandma and Grandpa. The mommies and daddies got to have a night out. On Christmas Eve morning the kids helped Grandma make breakfast for everyone. They made monkey bread. It was VERY yummy! That night we really wanted to all attend a Christmas Eve service together, but the timing just didn't work out, so Lisa's crew went to their service at Carmel and the rest of us went to Next Level's service. The kids did so well! They were quiet when they were supposed to be and enjoyed listening and singing along to the music. After the service we had a roast beef feast. It was awesome, of course. We hung out for awhile after before we headed back to our house for the evening. On Christmas day, after our family Christmas at home, we came back into mom's to celebrate the Risch Family Christmas. We let the kids open their presents first. They attacked them, as usual. After the kids were happily playing with their new toys the grown-ups opened our gifts. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out together. Late that afternoon mom put on another excellent feast. This time turkey. We stuffed ourselves of course. After dinner the Russell clan joined us. We played some games and then a group of us decided to go bowling. I don't think any of had bowled in quite awhile, but we still had a great time!
Saturday was the day Michael headed back to Seattle. We had such a good week together! Can't wait to do it all again next year!
